Rome, Florence, Venice + Tuscany Private Tour ~ By popular demand! You get first-class hotels in great locations in the cities and the fast trains in between. But this is no common Rome-Florence-Venice rail trip! From Florence you'll get a full-day private tour in Tuscany. That means just you and the driver-guide (NOT on a bus with 50 people). You decide on the emphasis. You can head to incomparable Siena, a city frozen in time with architecture and medieval character you won't see in Rome, Florence or Venice. Or make it a day of countryside Tuscany by riding through the center of the Chianti wine district to visit charming small towns and stop for a wine-tasting.

Florence & Rome with Private Vatican & Uffizi Tours ~ Expanding our "Florence & Rome Essential" itinerary, in addition to first-class hotels in great locations and the fast train between Rome and Florence, we add the convenience of all 4 private transfers. Then you get something really special: a full half day (4 hours) with your own private guide for a walking tour in each city. This is our only package under $2000 with private guides in the cities. It's your choice what you do with the guide time. In Rome, we suggest going to the Vatican with your guide. We'll set that up with a reserved entrance so that you don't stand in the big line. Or you can use your private guide in ancient Rome, for the Colosseum and forum area, in which case we can still add a small group tour at the Vatican for no extra cost. It's your choice. In Florence, your guide can give you a private tour of the Uffizi Gallery, with a reserved entrance time. Or you can choose something else for your guide time, such as the Pitti Palace (our favorite in Florence).

This is independent travel. You will not be with a group, and you will not have a tour director leading you around. However, this particular package is designed for people who wish to have the benefit of private guides for designated times in each of the cities. We will also provide our sightseeing tips, our assistance with museum reservations, and access to us by telephone for help in planning for what to see when you are on your own.

A Week in Rome ~ One hotel for 6 nights--pack and unpack once. This is NOT another one of those Rome stays where they give you a hotel and a bus tour but leave you to figure out what to do with most of your time in Rome. We start with a small-group tour of the Vatican. Then we give you four different tours with private guides. There are two half-day tours with a private walking guide for the parts of Rome you need to see on foot, like the Colosseum and Forum area. Plus, there's half a day with a private driving guide, with car, who gives you the big view and takes you to your choice of places that require transportation, like the catacombs. Your fourth private tour is very special, as your private driver takes you outside of Rome to Tivoli where your private guide will show you the remarkable ruins of Hadrian's Villa and the stunning fountains of the Villa d'Este. After all that personal insight and support by local people, you still have plenty of time to spend in Rome on your own. This is the Rome trip our staff voted to have for themselves!

A Week in Florence ~ Start by arriving in Florence and meeting your private transfer to your hotel in the very heart of Florence. You can easily walk from your hotel to all the major attractions of this glorious city including the Duomo (cathedral), Uffizi and Accademia Galleries, Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace. We've lined up a great selection of activities for you. You'll get a hands-on cooking class in a private home followed by lunch with wine. Then there's the market tour....you'll be guided through a picturesque market to learn how an Italian chef selects fresh ingredients, followed by a food and wine tasting. And the half-day walking tour with our private artistic guide -- you choose what to see, perhaps the Pitti Palace, the Uffizi Gallery, or maybe the less-visited museums of Florence. And the artisan tour lets you experience some of the fine workmanship in wood, marble, leather, ceramics and other products for which Florence is famous. Last and certainly not least there's the full-day private tour into countryside Tuscany. You can choose to visit the city of Siena or stick with countryside and small town locations, including wineries.
